Dominican Republic Trip - Experiment Using Social Media
Tomorrow the TRNS staff and I head to the Dominican Republic for a working vacation. We’ll be working on our website and strategy, while staying in Punta Cana.
I know very little about the Dominican Republic, but am looking forward to a week with my fantastic colleagues, talking social media, and attempting to create media outside my comfort zone. Punta Cana is a reasonably affluent, and technologically-rich area. However, cell phones won’t be accessible, and charging devices en masse might be tricky.
This list is luxury compared to what I’ll bring to Africa next month, but I’m taking comparatively little in terms of my usual recording devices to the Dominican Republic:
- 1 Macbook Pro
- 1 Casio Exilim camera
- 1 Marantz PMD 620
- 1 set Sony earbuds
- 1 small laverlier mic
I’ll try to record a Creepy Sleepy podcast while in the DR, and I’ll use light weight, web-based tools to create/gather media:
- Twitter
- Flickr
- Seesmic
- Utterz
