Socialist Party USA 2007 Convention Coverage

Creepy Sleepy’s William ‘Doc’ Stodden recently attended and covered the National Convention of the Socialist Party USA. Doq attended the convention, interviewed many of the attendees - including the Presidential nominee.

As a part of Creepy Sleepy’s 2008 campaign coverage, we remind you that the American political system consists of more than mainstream partisan politics. Many Americans have a distorted or inaccurately understanding of socialism. From the SPUSA’s website:

THE SOCIALIST PARTY strives to establish a radical democracy that
places people’s lives under their own control - a non-racist,
classless, feminist socialist society…where working people own and
control the means of production and distribution through
democratically-controlled public agencies; where full employment is
realized for everyone who wants to work; where workers have the right
to form unions freely, and to strike and engage in other forms of job
actions; and where the production of society is used for the benefit of
all humanity, not for the private profit of a few.

Doc will appear on the next episode of the Creepy Sleepy Show to discuss attending the convention, the implications of contemporary Socialism, and his involvement with the party. For the time being, you can read about the convention at Doq’s blog Supernova Earth, or download his audio directly.
