If podcasting is the new punk, then Creepy Sleepy is the Ramones

How was your weekend? Good? Good. Did you all have a chance to listen to that audio? I guess it was about 29:00 min in, or there abouts.

That press conference was significant for reasons other than to lay down the Governor’s abortion policy. It was very indicative of his views - or lack thereof - on new media. There is a lesson to be learned here. I learned that one must succinctly phrase questions when talking to politicians.  The Governor, or presumably at least his advisors, learned that bloggers are media too.

Elected officials take note: We’re certainly willing - and eager in some cases eager - to work with you. We have a lot to offer each other. Bloggers can be shallow and petty at times, and no one denies this. Criticize all you want; we could certainly use some constructive critiques.

I say this not out of arrogance, or spite, or malice, or even ignorance, but simply as a warning: Never, ever be rude to a blogger. You can be dismissive if you want, but it will be at your own expense. It’s called ‘new media’ for a reason.  Soon the ‘new media’ will simply become The Media.

…and hey, like Muhammed Ali once said: It ain’t braggin’ if it’s true.

By the way, Whenelvisdied posted this in the forums. It seems as though I’m not the only one concerned (even though the Gov totally dismissed my question) about who and how the legal fight will be paid for.
