South Dakota Senate Passes Abortion Ban
Yesterday the South Dakota Senate passed the abortion ban. Presuming that Governor Rounds signs this in to law, South Dakota will become the first state in the union to ban abortion. Here’s the article from the Rapid City Journal.
We can speculate as to if the Supreme Court will hear this or not - it must first go through the court process - but we can be assured that the ACLU and Planned Parenthood will sue.
You can check out who voted for it, and who voted against the bill on the Dakota Voice website. If you live in SoDak, I strongly suggest you contact the office of the governor and urge him to not sign the bill.
What a dubious distinction.
